Brunel House first opened as a dental practice in 1982, initially as a branch practice of a practice in Torquay which was owned and run by Alan Bairstow and Howard Jackson. Mark Neal joined the practice as an associate in January 1983.
In 1987 Bairstow and Jackson decided to split their partnership and the Brunel House Practice was bought by Mark who has been the sole owner since.
Over the last 18 years the practice has been continually improved and updated. Both surgeries have been completely re-fitted. New, state of the art equipment has been acquired and in 2000 the practice underwent a major upgrade for the new century.
In 2004 the British Dental Association Good Practice Standard was achieved. The Good Practice Scheme proves to patients that a practice is committed to working to standards set by the professions national association. It is an innovation devised by the BDA so that dentists can ensure that they are providing patients with the best care available, it will mean that patients will know exactly what service to expect from their dentist.
In 2001 the practice achieved the Investor in People award. For those of you that are unfamiliar with Investor In People it is a national standard, supported by the Government, industry, trade unions and all political parties which sets out how organizations can improve their performances by developing the people who work for them. Investor In People requires a commitment to the training and development of everyone within an organization.
